Yes. Our gold-buying counter is operated from inside Cash Generator on The Mall at Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Can I bring an existing gold quote?+
Absolutely. Bring or send your genuine local quote — written or photographed — and we will review it and try to offer you more.
Will Warrington Gold beat every quote?+
We try to beat any genuine local quote, but we don't guarantee that every quote will be beaten. All comparisons are subject to inspection, weight, purity and the current precious-metal price.
Is the valuation free?+
Yes. All valuations at our Warrington branch are free of charge.
Is there any obligation to sell?+
No. You can decide whether to accept or decline any offer at the counter.
Do I need an appointment?+
No appointment is needed for a counter valuation. If you are bringing a large collection it can help to call ahead.
What identification should I bring?+
Photographic identification (such as a passport or driving licence) may be required before a transaction can be completed. You must have the legal right to sell the items.
Can I sell broken gold?+
Yes. Broken chains, single earrings, snapped rings and scrap gold are all welcome.
Do you buy gold without a hallmark?+
Often, yes. Items without a visible hallmark can still be tested for purity at the counter.
How is gold tested?+
We use a combination of visual inspection, hallmark verification and electronic / acid testing where required.
How is the value calculated?+
By weight, purity (carat) and the current precious-metal price at the time of valuation. Non-precious components such as stones may be excluded.
Do you buy silver and platinum?+
Yes — silver jewellery, silver coins and bars, and platinum items are all considered.
Do you buy watches, diamonds and gemstones?+
We buy selected watches and consider jewellery containing diamonds or gemstones, but we can't promise to buy every item. Send a photograph and we'll let you know honestly.
Can I email photographs?+
Once our email address is published you will be able to send photographs directly. In the meantime, please call us on 01925 417537.
Can I sell gold by post?+
Yes — through our partner HighStreetGold, a nationwide postal gold service backed by genuine high-street stores.
Is the postal pack insured?+
Yes, subject to the HighStreetGold postal terms and applicable insurance limits.
What happens if I decline the postal offer?+
If you decline a postal offer, return arrangements apply in line with the HighStreetGold postal terms.
How will I be paid?+
Payment arrangements are confirmed at the time of valuation. Identification may be required before a transaction can be completed.
